Banana Cake

A friend of my sis gave  her lots of bananas last Sunday.. and her hubby immediately thot of Banana Cake.. Since i have a wonderful, moist & simple banana cake recipe, i immediately obliged..  I’m not sure if i’ve given the recipe, but to make your life easier in case you’d like to try, here it goes:-

  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 cup oil (which i replace with melt butter)
  • 6 – 7 bananas (i used ‘pisang berangan’ – sorry, not sure the name in English)
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 1/2 cups all purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon soda bicarbonate
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder

Mix flour, soda and baking powder in a bowl.  Put it aside.  Blend in sugar, oil, eggs and bananas in a food processor/blender.  Then add the mixtures into the flour.  Bake for about 50 minutes, 160C.  That’s it!  Oh i forgot, at the stage before baking, i also add in 2-3 bananas cut in chunk..  what can i say, i just love bananas..  you can skip this, your choice.. i doubled the recipe so that it’s enough to distribute to all my siblings houses..

And you know what.. today (tuesday), i made another batch (also double) and my siblings just can’t have enough of it.. especially when i sent it to their houses (all next to each other!) right after it was out of the oven.. who could resist a hot banana cake on a rainy afternoon.. heaven!!

Bread & Butter Pudding

Semalam memang ter-rajin sket nak gi dapur.. lagipun my ‘family besar’ nak makan waffle, so Adib saya tinggalkan dengan mummy dia (my sis).   Roti ni dah duduk dalam fridge seminggu, so it’s time to clear it.. buat puding roti la.. kali ni saya modified sket pasal susu cair ada 1 tin je.. saya gunakan utk sosnya.. so, utk puding, saya guna susu segar je + gula sket.. pastu atasnya saya tabur gula perang instead of gula biasa utk dapatkan kaler yg lebih menarik (ikut cara Sherina RN – thanks dear!).

Pastu saya bakar 25 minit.. lepas masak tu, terus bawak gi gerai my dad.. kat situlah kitorang selalu berkumpul satu family sekarang ni.. petang2 tak ramai orang luar datang makan.. So, anak beranak jelah yg memenuhkan gerai makan my dad tu..

Kali ni saya buat mungkin terkurang baking time.. but i like it!! pasal dia lembab dan lembut.. memang sedaplah!!  hish, teringat2 pulak kesedapannya (Sally kalau baca ni sure jejer2 air liur…. hehhehehe). Yg halus2 kat atas puding tu is cheddar cheese.. memang lagi kellasss rasanya!!

Another failure!!  I am soooo not good when it comes to bread..  i went to bread class but still can’t produce a perfect bread!  What is sooo wrong with me?

Time for Bread

I keep thinking of making breads.. but it’s very time consuming and TIME is what i’m lack of..  i’m not sure what makes me busy these past few weeks, or should i say months… i haven’t got the chance to really pamper myself… who’s fault is it when my brain keeps thinking of baking.. or making something… {sigh}….

2 pics above are my first perfect loaf.  Believe it or or, the ingredients are soo basic and no butter/shortening or egg needed!  and yet, it’s so soft and  yummy.. & the best part is that i just have to dump everything inside the breadmaker.. It took 4 hours to do the whole process… i cut the loaf while it’s still hot, right after i took it out of the loaf pan.  To get a perfect slice, it has to be cut when it’s cold + a sharp knife.. i’ve wait for sooo long and i don’t think i can wait any longer.. and besides, i love hot bread..

anyway, my quest for a perfect bread still continue….





Minum Petang

Last wiken, TERrajin sket coz hubby outsetesen.. biasalah, cuma rajin wat minum2 petang ni bila dia takde.. kalau dia ada, manjang nak dok celah ketiak dia.. ihik ihik..

Since on Saturday ada banyak open house last kopek, so, tak wat pape la utk Saturday.  On Sunday, lepas mandikan anak-anak berekor tu, terus start projek kat dapo.  Itupun buat yg simple mimple je… buat apam harum manis (best makan masa suam!!) dengan potato bread… pastu gi jamu family members and tak lupa utk jiran tetangga.. Utk korang  yg tengok ni, jamu mata jelah ek.. ihik ihik..

Ni resepinya:

HARUM MANIS

Bahan-bahannya

300 gm gula melaka

350 ml air

3 biji telur

200 gm gula pasir

350 gm tepung gandum

1/2 sudu teh baking powder

1 sudu teh bicarbonate of soda

(3 bahan diatas diayak)

1/4 sudu teh garam

1 sudu maka esen vanilla

50 gm mentega, dicairkan

8-9 biji pisang raja dihiris bulat tipis

Cara-caranya

Masak gula melaka dengan air hingga larut.  Tapis dan sejukkan.  Pukul telur dan gula hingga naik.  Masukkan tepung sedikit demi sedikit dengan menggunakan spatula dan kacau rata.  Kemudian masukkan esen vanilla dan mentega cair serta sirap gula melaka dan kacau hingga sebati.  Sapukan acuan-acuan kecil dengan mentega.  Tuangkan sedikit adunan kedalam acuan, isikan tiga suku penuh sahaja lalu letakan hirisan pisang keatas adunan.  Kukus kesemua adunan itu selama 15-20 minit.  Sejukkan dahulu sebelum keluarkan dari acuan.

Honey, I Burnt the Bread!

After a very very very long break, i finally managed to squeeze my time to fulfil Danisya’s demand for fresh bread.  I was attracted to LindaZA’s comment in ResipiNet and so i decided to try this out (thanks beb for sharing this recipe)… i used my Princess breadmaker (she had a good long break – how lucky!)  to do the magic.  Danisya requested for pizza bun, i wanted cheese, my dad loves raisin bun and the other kids love sausage bun…. so, with only 1 dough i manage to do varieties of bread… and needless to say, enjoying bread right from the oven – priceless!  tho i must say i burnt the breads!!

500g bread floor

100g castor sugar

4 tsp dried yeast

1 tsp salt

1 egg (gred A)

water – 250ml (tapi saya tak siram terus buh sikit2 tgk keadaan doh)

100g butter atau shortening (nak mix pun bleh gak)

bread improver (optional)

30g milk powder
