Fried Wantan, Tosei, Kaswi and Donut

It’s been a while since we last had our ‘makan-makan’ session together..  the regular cook (that’s me!) is too busy with i don’t know what…  anyway, last week, most of my siblings had the chance to prepare something for our unofficial makan petang.. Ayu wanted fried wantan (& i wanted to try the new wantan recipe).  Mak said donut would be lovely..  I wanted kaswi… Ima made banana fritters (pastu tetiba ada cempedak goreng gak!), tati made sardine roll and along tetiba datang dengan jelly.. hmm, memang meriah betul..  Semuanya sedap (especially fried wantan).  Sorry foto memang bad quality pasal masa snap tu hari hujan.. gambar pun mendung jelah..

Ini pulak my second attempt of tosei.. still kene adjust, which means it wasn’t me but the RECIPE yang at fault tau!  tak suka cam ni.. lain kali kalau balik SP, nak berguru & sukat betul2 dengan mak mertua ku yg dah champion buat tosei… geram betul bila buat tak berapa nak jadi ni. but still, laku!!

I really would like to share resepi wantan yg mmg marbeles tu tapi apakan daya, tertinggal lagi recipe kat rumah..  Kaswi pun sedap & goyang inul tapi i overdose nescafe, so, rasa nescafe la terlebih!!  Donut, as usual, guna resepi kak sue yg simple mimple as follows:-

  • 3 cups all purpose flour
  • 3 tbs milk powder
  • 3 tbs castor sugar
  • 2 tbs shortening
  • 1 tbs butter
  • 2 tbs instant yeast
  • 200ml water

Campurkan semua dalam breadmachine & terap & goreng & golek atas gula castor.. Siap!!  gebus kemulus nimbus!!

Ini pulak resepi Kuih Kaswi.. kene cuba lagi tapi takmo letak nescafe.. mesti teramat2 best!

80 g tepung beras – saya guna 2/3 cawan
80 g tepung ubi/sagu – 2/3 cawan
100g gula pasir – saya bubuh 4.5 sudu (kurang kan sikit sbb lebihkan gula merah – for colouring lebih gelap)
100 g gula merah /gula melaka – kira-kira setengah cawan
550 g air – ukur guna botol susu anak (atau 2 dan 1/5 cawan) (250ml)
1/2 camt air limau nipis/air kapur sireh.

Masak air dan gula bila larut tapiskan, biar sejuk sedikit.
Panaskan kukusan letak loyang 9X9 in sapu minyak sikit kat loyang.
Campur semua bahan dgn air gula tadi kacau dalam periuk hingga naik wap (hingga adunan tu bergentil sedikit ).
Tuang dalam loyang yang dah panas, kukus la sampai masak.

Note- Kak selalu tambah choc paste or nescafe sedikit bau dia lebih sedap.
